Client requirements
An Arab investor engaged Ras Al Hekma Businessmen Services to establish a factory producing Moroccan soap in the UAE. The investor selected Umm Al Quwain because the available premises and rental costs suited the project’s requirements. The work extended beyond an industrial licence: premises, approvals, raw-material imports and staffing all needed to be addressed.
The challenge
Before operations could begin, the investor needed suitable industrial premises on workable lease terms, the relevant approvals, arrangements for incoming raw materials and completion of workforce documentation.
Our contribution
Finding appropriate premises was an early part of the assignment. Our team looked for a site suited to the manufacturing activity and negotiated the rent and lease terms against the investor’s project budget. The choice of location and the cost of establishing the factory were therefore considered together.
We then coordinated the industrial licensing process and associated approvals with the relevant authorities. Our follow-up covered the commercial, health-related and other requirements applicable to the project, including trademark and chamber of commerce matters. This work addressed the establishment requirements alongside the practical preparations for production.
Preparing for production also meant addressing raw-material imports and workforce documentation. We worked with customs clearance specialists to facilitate the import and entry of the materials, and coordinated employment and residency formalities for the factory’s staff. Our involvement thus continued beyond incorporation to the administrative work needed for the factory to operate.
Outcomes
- Suitable industrial premises secured on favourable rental terms.
- Industrial licensing and the required establishment approvals completed.
- Support with raw-material imports and customs clearance.
- Employment and residency procedures coordinated for the factory’s workforce.
- The factory commenced production.
Value delivered
By coordinating premises, licensing, imports and workforce requirements together, we helped the investor prepare the factory for production.
