Client requirements

Five Arab traders based in South Korea, working in used-vehicle and automotive spare-parts trading, approached Ras Al Hekma Businessmen Services to establish their businesses in the UAE. They selected Ajman Free Zone for their companies and vehicle showrooms. Their priority was to complete formation and licensing before travelling to the country.

The challenge

The investors were still overseas, so documents, approvals and consultations had to be coordinated remotely. The assignment involved several businesses rather than a single formation file, followed by residency procedures once the investors arrived.

Our contribution

The engagement involved separate formation files for several businesses, with the investors participating from overseas. Our team organised the documents and communication for the company applications, using video consultations where needed. This allowed the establishment work to move forward while the clients were still in South Korea.

We prepared and coordinated the relevant formation agreements and other company documents, then followed up on commercial licence applications and the necessary approvals. Communication with Ajman Free Zone and the other authorities formed part of this work, so that documents and requests could be addressed through the appropriate channels.

Once formation and licensing were complete, the investors travelled to the UAE. We then assisted with investor residency and the employment and residency procedures for their staff. These personal applications were a further stage of the engagement: completing the company formalities did not by itself complete the investors’ or employees’ residency requirements.

Outcomes

  • Five automotive showrooms established for five traders in Ajman Free Zone.
  • More than five commercial licences obtained for their business activities.
  • Company formation and licensing completed while the investors were outside the UAE.
  • Investor and employee residency procedures completed after arrival.

Value delivered

The investors could complete formation and licensing before travelling, then continue with residency and staffing procedures through the same team.
